Come and visit our slice of paradise just North of Upper Hutt.
Pakuratahi Farm Animal Sanctuary is a safe place where the animals and you can have fun, get to know each other and learn.  It is an educational experience for both young and old. Whether it is a visit by a school class or the young at heart from a retirement village, both visitors and animals share the benefits from meeting each other.

We provide:

  • A specialized programme for youth in need
  • "Animal therapy" for everyone, both young and old

The animals that reside at the sanctuary have mostly come from abusive situations. After receiving much needed care and gaining the trust of those that work with them, they soon learn to have fun. Some are so relaxed that some have become movie stars, appearing in films such as:

  • Lord of the Rings
  • King Kong
  • The Lost World
  • The Tribe...And many more!

HUHA invites parties or groups to learn whilst interacting with these very special creatures. We can easily tailor a programme to suit your groups’ special needs, so please contact us to arrange a visit.
