Hypericum (st Johns wart)

Hypericum or st Johns wart used in times of old to ward of demons and evil spirits. It can also help ease and repel many modern day demons that plague our everyday lives such as depression and other injuries and illnesses. Applied externally to burns, scalds, cuts and blisters as a balm it can drastically speed up the healing process.

How to make Hypericum enfused Oil

To prepare a Hypericum balm simply place 250g of fresh flowers of the Hypericum plant into a wide necked jar and fill the jar with 500 ml of virgin olive oil. Cover with muslin and leave on a sunny window for eight weeks, shake every so often. After the eight weeks strain the liquid through the muslin which should turn red upon contact with the air this red liquid can now be used to dress wounds or be added to an emulsifier to make a balm.

Hypericum has recently been part of many studies which have found it as effective of an antidepressant as Prozac and Paxil with fewer side effects. You can find Hypericum capsules at most good health stores. This is often used in the stead of Prozac to provide similar effects in a safer more natural way.

As with all health issues you should consult your doctor or other health professional before trying any new treatment
